Redesign to HDD in Sheringham, Norfolk

Conroysgroup have successfully redesigned a 200m open cut design to install a new 280mm HPPE raw water main in partnership with @onealliance.  We completed the section which would have required a Road closure for three weeks with two Horizontal Directional Drill shots minimising the waste movements and local disruption.

Conroy’s Group place further orders for Suction Excavators

Conroy’s who set the benchmark for safer Excavations by purchasing the first Suction Excavators into the UK in 2006, have just placed orders for a further 2 more machines. Opting for the all new Volvo 8x4 FMX with High Ride Constructor Chassis c/w Mega Boom Hydraulic Arm. Delivery is expected early 2015

Conroys have Now secured the first Vermeer D60x90 Navigator^® horizontal directional drill (HDD)  destined for the UK. The New D60x90 Navigator was intended to simply do more with in less space. The result is one of the highest power-to-footprint ratios that Vermeer has ever produced in a self-contained HDD. Delivery expected early February 2014

Conroys New Horizontal Directional Drill

Conroys Have taken delivery of their new HDD - Vermeer D36-50. The drill was deployed to the Peak District where a 180mm MDPE water main was drilled 2m below the river bed through rock.

Horizontal Directional Drilling, also known by its acronym 'HDD' is a common procedure for the installation of essential utilities underground. For example, sewage, electricity, telecommunications and gas - all essentials in our modern environment. The advantage of using HDD  on this project  is the ability to cause absolute minimal disruption to  to the surface above which in itself poses many social & environmental issues on this, a World Heritage site, said Simon Conroy.
