Conroys New Horizontal Directional Drill

Conroys Have taken delivery of their new HDD - Vermeer D36-50. The drill was deployed to the Peak District where a 180mm MDPE water main was drilled 2m below the river bed through rock.

Horizontal Directional Drilling, also known by its acronym 'HDD' is a common procedure for the installation of essential utilities underground. For example, sewage, electricity, telecommunications and gas - all essentials in our modern environment. The advantage of using HDD  on this project  is the ability to cause absolute minimal disruption to  to the surface above which in itself poses many social & environmental issues on this, a World Heritage site, said Simon Conroy. Conroy's have taken delivery of two new 20 tonne DAF tipper lorries for there busy recycle facility in Havant.

Exeter - Ground Stabilisation for Balfour Beatty

Conroys were recently called in by Balfour Beatty following severe storms & floods in the Exeter region to transform 9000 tonnes of material that was destined for landfill. Conroys deployed the Stabiltech Mobile Recycle Unit and used SMR binder to transform what can only be described as 'slop' into a useable and stabilised backfill material. This technique reulted in zero material being sent to landfill and zero use of primary aggregate which combined had a massive cost saving.
